Wine Review: This dark magenta colored blend opens with an inviting mild blueberry and coffee bouquet with hints of black cherry and rose oil. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very smooth. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced stewed black plum with notes of dried herbs and black currant. We also detected hints of black olive. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins build-up and stick around for a very long time. The Panel suggested pairing this in the near term with Roy’s rib roast. Enjoy – KWGTP.
Winemaker Notes: On The Nose: Cedar, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves, wet iron, tomato stems, black cherries, lemon zest and underbrush.
On The Palate: Silky entrance, balanced, integrated acidity framed with granular tannins and notes of hard caramel candy, vanilla ice cream, macerated strawberry, coconut shavings, roasted red meat, cigar box, under ripe nectarine, violet candy and cocoa powder.
