Wine Review: This opaque and deep ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from some classic Beckstoffer owned vineyards opens with a mild blackberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and very fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe and jammy blackberry and cassis blend with notes of nicely integrated mild minerality and oak in the background. I also detected a touch coffee and boysenberry towards the end. The finish is dry and its moderate fine tannins linger nicely. This fruit bomb Cab would pair nicely with seared duck breast drizzled with a cherry and port sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Blending Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from top flight vineyards such as Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper and Beckstoffer Las Piedras, we designed this to be enjoyed now or over the next two decades. As the core varietal of Napa Valley, our Cabernet Sauvignon possesses concentration, freshness and acidity. It is mahogany colored with touches of ruby and sangria. On the nose it displays hints of cherry, earl grey, lavender and dry herbs lingering on black currant, white pepper and saffron. On the palate, its big round entrance evolves into a dark fruit jam featuring currant and blackberry with some lingering acidity and cherry.
