Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark red colored Valpolicella opens with a red plum and faint strawberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and round. The flavor profile is a tasty mineral and red plum blend with notes of gentle oak and a hint of strawberry licorice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavors fade away nicely. This wine is versatile and food friendly. I would pair it with roast chicken with winter vegetables. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ruby red in color, with purplish-blue highlights. The nose exhibits fragrant fruit with prominent notes of cherries, echoed by fresher hints of pepper and aromatic herbs, typical of Corvina. Whilst young, it is impressively lively and playful on the palate while it expresses greater delicacy and finesse some two years later. This Valpolicella is the perfect accompaniment to Italian antipasti, soups and pasta dishes. Serve preferably at 61° F and open the bottle shortly before drinking.
