Wine Review: This dark red colored Zinfandel from the Alexander Valley was another Expo discovery. It opens with an old oak and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty plum with notes of integrated oak. I also detected hints of black pepper, minerality, and black raspberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a little while. This Zin is consistently very good and this year’s vintage would pair nicely with grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Sin Zin is an elegant style of Zinfandel, due to our growing region and winemaking style. This balance explains Sin Zin's restaurant popularity; it is always a food friendly style of Zinfandel. There are aromas of black cherry, spice, black pepper, plum, oak, vanilla and blueberry jam. This chewy, well balanced Zinfandel has spicy flavors of bright cherry, raspberry, plum and black cherry. There is nice acidity and length to finish.
