Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Spanish wine opens with a very attractive red cherry and wintergreen like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant with notes of red raspberry and a touch of old oak and dried cranberry. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This wine is very approachable and food friendly. I would pair it with chicken wrapped in a puff pastry, smothered in a cherry amaretto sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: A supple and spicy vintage. Typically more fruit-forward than its sibling Tinto Pesquera, 2006 is no exception. Rounded with plum and chocolate richness offering near-term enjoyment. Will gain finesse with age.
