Wine Review: This deep purple grenache based blend from Lirac is very good. It opens with a very inviting stewed plum and dark cherry bouquet with hints of boysenberry, dried herbs and graphite. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, well-balanced, quite juicy and super smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty flinty mineral infused red plum and red cherry blend with notes of oolong tea. We also detected hints of raspberry and anise in the background. The finish is dry and its moderate grainy tannins stick around for quite a while. This wine has aged-well and is drinking really well right now. We would pair it with a New York strip steak or veal osso buco. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
Winemaker Notes: An intense red garnet color. On the nose, aromas of red and black ripe fruit (kirsch and wild blackberry). The mouth is full, with aromas of blackcurrant liqueur and spice. Tannins are both harmonious and elegant thanks to the fleshiness of the wine. Hints of licorice and vanilla on the finish, which gives the wine length and complexity.
