Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Acumen opens with a black plum and pencil lead bouquet with a hint of blueberry, mustard seed, and tea leaves. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth and polished. The flavor profile is gentle black currant and graphite blend with notes of black tea and black plum. We also detected some hints of black plum, black licorice, black pepper, and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its refined tannins build-up a bit and then drift away. The Tasting Panel would pair this Cab with a veal Diane with wild mushrooms and marsala or with grilled Brazilian picanha steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: From its inviting cherry and black currant aromas to its hints of vanilla, sage, and clove, this wine displays lovely French oak-inspired layers of sweetness and spice. The lush, dark berry layers echo on the beautifully balanced palate, where elegant, fine-grained tannins and an energetic beam of acidity frame the generous fruit flavors while carrying the wine to a long fruit and spice finish.
