Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Franc from Acumen opens with a red licorice and red plum bouquet with hints of Dr. Pepper, tobacco, and black currant. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and dense. The flavor profile is stony minerality and red plum blend with notes of tea and red raspberry. We also detected hints of cocoa, cedar, black cherry, and nutmeg. It is pretty complex. The finish is dry, and its managed tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel could enjoy this Cab Franc on its own as a sipper. With food, we would pair it with Chris’s rib roast. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: This beautifully vibrant expression of mountain-grown Cabernet Franc draws you in with alluring aromas of currant, pomegranate and plum, mingled with hints of oak spice, cola, cigar box, leather, and fragrant black tea. On the smooth, mouth filling palate, silky tannins and a round supple texture frame the bright red berry flavors, with layers of cherry, cardamom, clove, and roasted coffee flowing to a long luxurious finish.
