Wine Review: This dark burgundy colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Acumen opens with black cherry cola and boysenberry bouquet with hints of clove, black licorice, and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, supple, polished, and very approachable. The flavor profile is a very tasty black currant and black raspberry blend with notes of black tea and black cherry. We also detected hints of green olive, plum, and clove. The finish is dry, and its refined moderate tannins drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would serve this food friendly and versatile Cab with a bacon wrapped filet mignon or with a grilled teriyaki salmon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: From its inviting cherry and black currant aromas to its hints of vanilla, sage, and clove, this wine displays lovely French oak-inspired layers of sweetness and spice. The lush, dark berry layers echo on the beautifully balanced palate, where elegant, fine-grained tannins and an energetic beam of acidity frame the generous fruit flavors while carrying the wine to a long fruit and spice finish.
