Wine Review: This is an enjoyable Zinfandel based, field blend wine. It also contains up to 15 other grapes. It is ink black colored and opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of black raspberry, light oak, leather and earthy herbs. Its medium bodied palate is slightly dry and smooth with flavors of blackberries and plum. I also detected hints of tart cranberries and mocha mixed in. Its pleasing tannins are soft, approachable and balanced. The pleasurable finish was slightly dry, palate coating, while fruity flavors fade away nicely. I thought this Zin was very versatile and food friendly. I would pair it with an herb encrusted rack of lamb. - Joe

Winemaker Notes: An enticing nose of black raspberry threaded with white pepper and toasty oak. The smooth mouthfeel caresses with a luscious mix of spicy blackberry, plum, and boysenberry. Mocha and dark chocolate round out the wine, adding depth and elegance. Black cherry and a trace of cedar appear near the finish as the flavors expand and linger. Enjoyable solo. But would also pair well with grilled pork tenderloin with savory cherry or try it with Indian dishes, such as, Tandoori chicken or an eggplant curry.
