Wine Review: This opaque and very dark red colored Lagrein is a serious wine. It opens with a fragrant dark cherry bouquet with hints of rich dark chocolate. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, rich and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty mild cranberry with notes of integrated minerality and old oak. I also detected a hint of green olive and red plum. The finish is dry and its dusty tannins are sticky and linger for quite a while. This Lagrein needs a hearty meal. I would pair wine with a slow cooked beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
