Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and deep purple colored Shiraz opens with a blackberry, moist pipe tobacco and Dr. Pepper bouquet with hints of leather and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. It is also balanced and has a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a blueberry and black plum blend with notes of ripe blackberry, chocolate and green tea. We also detected hints of black olive, anise and oak. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and fine-grained tannins fade away nicely. This good value Shiraz would pair well with Texas oven-roasted beef brisket or your favorite gourmet pizza. Enjoy Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby-red in color, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is elegantly preserved, but well- concentrated, the fruit expression is a little reserved initially, unfolding vibrant dark raspberries and blackberries, lifted by subtle, fragrant spice notes and aromatic black pepper, licorice and cedar. On the palate, it is full-bodied, well concentrated, and sweetly rich. Succulent flavors of dark raspberries and blackberries are melded with layers of black pepper, licorice and Asian spices. Fine-grained, flowery tannins provide strong grip and structure.
