Definition: Old Vines
There is no legal definition of "Old Vine" Zinfandel. Joel Peterson, founder/winemaker of Ravenswood, defines them as the following: Young Vines are 0-10 years old. Middle Aged vines are 10-50 years old. Old Vines are 50-80 years old and finally Ancient Vines are over 80 years year old.
