Wine Review: I am a big fan of Rolf’s Heysen. This year’s vintage is almost pitch black in color. It opens with a very attractive blackberry bouquet with notes of blueberry and cranberry mixed in. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, ultra smooth, and very well balanced. The flavor profile is a delicious juicy blackberry and blueberry blend with a dash of nutmeg mixed in. The finish is dry and its ultra fine tannins fade away quite nicely over time. The more I drank this wine, the more I liked it. I would serve this very refined Barossa Shiraz with a filet mignon. Enjoy - Ken
