Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot opens with a faint dark berry like bouquet with a hint of black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and elegant with mild raspberry and strawberry flavors. The finish is dry and subtle. We felt this wine would nicely complement a lightly seasoned pork tenderloin. This is a wine that will perform best in the near term. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The hallmark of Sanchietti for us is its enthralling combination of grace and power, and the 2006 offering certainly exemplifies this. In the nose, it leads with high-toned blackberry and blueberry fruit, violets, and a hint of black tea. In the mouth, bright berry and black cherry shine through along with concentrated, finely structured tannins, and ginger spice. This a wine that is clearly packed tightly and well built for aging, but its silkiness and candied finish are enticing already. Enjoy it over a long dinner of veal Cordon Bleu or Moscovy duck breast.
