Wine Review: We have been very high on Carneros Chardonnay lately and this offering from La Crema just added to our passion for the grape from this region. In a recent tasting of the La Crema line, this Chardonnay was our favorite. This deep yellow colored wine opens with a fragrant tropical fruit and light lemon like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, rich, and creamy. The flavor profile is a delicious light lemon flavors with notes of honeydew melon blended in. There was also a hint of ripe banana as well. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing. It lingers for quite some time. This Chardonnay was the first foray for La Crema in terms of making a Chardonnay from Carneros. My hat goes of to winemaker Melissa Stackhouse and her team. They hit a home run at their first at bat. Enjoy this wine with pasta carbonara. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Look for bright orange and stone fruit aromas, punctuated by butterscotch and caramel corn. In the mouth, vibrant notes of lemon zest and mineral blend with toasty shortbread overtones. Elegant and beautifully balanced, a broad mid-palate leads to a subtly spicy finish. - Melissa Stackhouse, La Crema Winemaker
