Wine Review: This Pinot was La Crema’s best option from the 2007 vintage. This light ruby colored wine opens with faint black cherry like bouquet with hints of cola as well. On the palate, this wine comes alive. It is medium to full bodied, very nicely balanced, slightly viscous, and quite smooth. The flavor profile is a very tasty blend of strawberry and raspberries. The finish is quite dry and its well managed moderate tannins linger for quite some time. Of all the La Crema Pinot options, this offering was the most cellar worthy. However, since I am more into instant gratification, I would enjoy this fine wine soon with duck or a seasoned pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: "Our goal is to truly capture the Russian River terroir in the glass. The 2007 Pinot Noir offers aromas of dark plum and black cherry, with hints of rose petal and orange peel. Hedonistic in flavors...brooding black cherry, cocoa and spice...plush texture, with broad tannins and a lingering, juicy fruit finish." - Melissa Stackhouse, Winemaker
