Wine Review: This dark burgundy colored Malbec from Dona Paula was quite impressive and finished in 2nd place in our recent blind tasting. It was the real big winner in terms of quality to price. The panel awarded this wine with 91 points and it only costs $16. It should also be noted that the panelists pegged this wine to cost between $20 and $30. Even better yet, there were 47,000 cases made. It opens with an inviting cherry vanilla like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, exhibits excellent balance, and is very smooth with very tasty rich red raspberry flavors. There were notes of blackberry and plum detected as well. The finish is dry and its tannins sail on for quite some time. The panel would pair this gem with a bacon wrapped filet mignon. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Intense red color with violet hues. Complex aromas with ripe plums, blackberry, blueberry, sweet tar, licorice, black pepper, mint, truffle with a hint of mocha flavors, giving an expressive and typical Argentinean character. It has sweet and smooth tannins, nice body with supple and long finish.
