Wine Review: The red wine that I think performs best in the Finger Lakes is Cab Franc. This bright ruby colored offering from Damiani recently beat out a LI Cab Franc in a head to head tasting that we recently conducted. This wine opened with light plum like bouquet with a hint of spearmint. On the palate, this wine was medium bodied, nicely balanced, elegant, and smooth. The flavor profile was a tasty light raspberry. The finish is dry and lingers slightly. Our group thought this wine was very easy to drink and should be consumed in the near term. We thought it would pair very well with chicken parmigianna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Medium to full-bodied. Beautiful nose with notes of blueberry and ripe wild berries, chocolate and a lengthy, satisfying finish. Gorgeous and available now, this is a superb example of a Finger Lakes Cab Franc.
