Wine Review: This almost black colored wine is very traditionally Italian styled. It opens with a musty black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, quite smooth, and balanced. There are tasty plum and dusty black cherry flavors. In addition, I detected a touch of infused light oak as well. The finish is dry and its mild tannins linger nicely. This wine is very food friendly and would pair very well with meat lasagna. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: An enticing, rather pronounced ruby red, edged with garnet. The suite of fragrances exhibits considerable complexity, opening to dark fruit such as plum and black currant, then enriched by a pungent spiciness that betrays cinnamon and clove. The attack offers dense, impressive pulp, and fine grained tannins that marry beautifully with its alcohol; the result is a solidly-built, but not heavy or extractive, wine with a seamless, long-lingering finish.
