Wine Review: Not many winemakers can pull off making a Very Good $20 Pinot Noir, but Adam Lee can. This bright ruby wine from Sonoma County is just one example. It opens with a light raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, soft, and shows nicely integrated acidity. Its tasty flavor profile I would describe as light raspberry. The finish is dry and its soft tannins linger quite nicely. This is a perfect everyday Pinot. I think it is a nice match for veal parmigianna. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: In 2007 it wasn't too difficult to kick things up a notch as the vintage did that for us. The 2007 Sonoma County shows loads of up-front fruit, with pretty blackberry, black cherry, and plum flavors. These flavors broaden on the mid-palate as the wine gains in richness and adds hints of dried herbs. The finish is smooth with very little tannins. This is definitely drinkable now and while it should last fine for a few years, it is ideal for nearer term consumption.
