Wine Review: This very dark purple Reserve wine from Portugal is quite impressive. This wine opens with a very pleasant blackberry and currant like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced, elegant, and sophisticated. The flavor profile is a chalky black currant flavor with a hint of blackberry. The finish is dry and has extremely well managed dusty dry tannins that are quite persistent. This wine is for near term consumption and I would pair it with a prime rib. Enjoy this gem - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This blend is very dark red, with crimson highlights with fig and black plum aromas, and a hint of balsamic oak. The palate shows great structure and a full-bodied firmness, with mature, silky tannins. Mineral notes mix with the aforementioned fruit, leading to a very elegant, complex and persistent finish.
