Wine Review: It’s Pinot season and this is one of the first of many Pinot’s we plan to try over the next couple of months. Well, we are of to a great start. This Pinot from Merry Edwards is quite impressive. It is bright black cherry in color. It opens with a light raspberry like bouquet. On the palate, this Pinot is medium bodied, really well balanced, smooth, and elegant. Everyone that tried it was quite impressed. This could be because of its delicious light black raspberry flavors with a hint of licorice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are nicely prolonged. Our group thought this very food friendly wine would pair perfectly with salmon. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: With every vintage, the wine from this location gains in depth and complexity. This mouthwatering Pinot Noir displays a beautiful array of red fruits – cherry, raspberry and wild strawberries – with a dusting of its hallmark cocoa. In the mouth, the palate builds in length to the luxurious richness of velvet. It continues to unfold in the glass, gaining momentum toward a memorable finish.
