Wine Review: The "Z" is De Toren’s second level Bordeaux styled blend. It will appeal to readers who like lots of oak influence in their red wine. It is opaque dark purple in color. It opens with a smoky oak like bouquet with a hint of spicy cherry aromas as well. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and displays oak infused dusty cherry like flavors. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are slightly prolonged. Enjoy this wine with a hearty meal like beef stew. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This sophisticated "Right Bank-styled" Bordeaux blend debuted in the 2004 vintage as a complement to De Toren’s legendary "Left Bank-styled" Fusion V. A higher proportion of Merlot makes this delicious red softer and more approachable in its youth than its blockbuster sibling. It delivers intense, alluring aromas and flavors of plum, dark berries, and spicebox along with classic notes of tobacco, graphite and leather.
