Wine Review: As many readers know, I am a huge fan of Mr. Foley’s wines. It is also, not everyday you get to enjoy a gem like his Claret. We were out for dinner for Valentines Day and stopped by Grill 23 for a drink. This almost black colored wine drew me in with its inviting blackberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, extremely well balanced, elegant, and ultra smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious blackberry with complex hints of menthol, black currant, and spice. The finish is dry and it sails on for quite a long time. I can’t say enough about this wine. Kudos to Alex DeWinter for putting this wine on his glass pour program. Yes, we had this wine by the glass from a newly opened bottle. Enjoy – Ken
