Wine Review: I find that Clos LaChance does a very nice job with their “Estate” program. My favorite offering from them at this year’s Boston Wine Expo was the 2005 Cab. This almost black colored wine opens with a spicy menthol and black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, very smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is a rich and tasty spicy black raspberry. The finish is quite dry and sails on for quite some time. We felt this wine performs well now, but will do well long term as well. Enjoy this beauty with a NYS strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A big, bold Cabernet Sauvignon. Incredible complexity due to extensive barrel and bottle aging. Dark blackberry aromas with vanilla and classic Cabernet eucalyptus. Flavors of cassis, plum and blackberries dominate throughout the palate and into the long, smooth finish.
