Wine Review: I recently attended a tasting with Hugh Davies from Schramsberg. This sparkler was by far my favorite from the portfolio shown. This light yellow wine opens with a nutty and doughy like light bouquet. On the palate, this sparkling wine is light bodied, nicely balanced, and very elegant. The flavor profile is a delicious dry light lime with gently infused mineral notes. The finish is dry and lingers slightly. This sparkler would be a delightful option to open up your candlelight dinner and evening of romance. Enjoy – Ken.
Winemaker Notes: "The aroma profile of our 2000 Reserve combines guava and lichee with baked Braeburn apples and Asian pears. There are also hints of toasted cinnamon, nutmeg and caramelized fruit essence. Its broad depth of exotic and autumn fruit flavors is integrated with bright acidity and barrel influence to produce a full, rich and complete aged sparkling wine that can be enjoyed now or for years to come." – Winemakers Hugh Davies and Craig Roemer
