Wine Review: I love Rockpile Zin’s and apparently so does the KWG tasting panel. They rewarded Carol Shelton’s Zin with a 3rd place finish is our recent blind tasting. This garnet colored wine opens with a spicy cherry vanilla like bouquet with a hint of pipe tobacco. On the palate, this medium bodied Zin is smooth, balanced, and savory with tasty cherry and chocolate flavors. The finish is quite dry and the tannins are very lengthy. The panel thought this wine would be ideal with a cowboy ribeye or mushroom risotto. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Inky blue-purple in color, moderate black pepper spice on deep blue-blackberry fruit. Cedary oak spice, very dark chocolate, bit of warm vanilla at finish, structured tannins for aging.
