Wine Review: Spy Valley has been a leading producer of fine offerings for the last several years. Their Sauvignon Blanc is always one of their best wines. This year at the Boston Wine Expos we really liked the way the 2008 vintage was showing. We were particularly fond of its intense gooseberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine was light bodied and well balanced with tasty gooseberry flavors along with a touch of lime. The finish is dry and quite refreshing. If you like traditional New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, look no further and pick up a bottle of Spy Valley and enjoy it with Broiled scallops. Cheers – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pale straw. Powerful fruit aromas of passionfruit, grapefruit and an underlying 'sweat' character. Complex mineral and sweet-pea notes add interest. Palate: Rich and ripe with generous palate weight. Sweet fruit flavours dance over the tongue and end with a sustained, dry finish.
