Wine Review: This is the style of Chard that was missing from Chard tastings this summer. This deep yellow colored wine opens with an attractive tropical fruit and fig like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, wonderfully balanced, very creamy, and soft. It displays delicious pineapple and green apple flavors with nicely integrated light oak on the back palate. The finish is dry and subtle, but quite satisfying. This Chard is extremely easy to drink and may be the best Chard I have tried from Dry Creek Vineyard. It is quite food friendly & I would pair it with chicken cordon bleu. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Russian River Valley is internationally recognized as one of the finest Chardonnay growing regions in the world. In 2006, the growing conditions were nearly perfect. Initial aromas of fresh pear, fig, and apricot lead to underlying elements of honeysuckle and tropical fruits. On the palate, the wine is quite opulent with warm caramel and vanilla bean notes that incorporate additional fruits such as Fuji apple and apricots. The well-integrated French oak creates a seamless wine that lingers on the palate and invites another sip.
