Wine Review: La Crema likes to focus on terroir. This new offering from them comes from Monterey. It was very well received in a recent mini tasting that we had conducted. The wine is yellow colored and it opens with a light apple and fruit salad like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, creamy, and very fruit forward with tropical fruit flavors. I thought there were notes of nectarines peaking through. The finish is dry and it lingers quite nicely. This wine would pair nicely with a grilled chicken dish smothered with a citrus salsa. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: "The inaugural vintage of Monterey Chardonnay shows exotic floral and tropical fruit on the nose, punctuated by appealing butterscotch, lemon peel and spice notes. The palate expands into bright peach, grilled pineapple and honeysuckle with subtle toast and caramel adding richness and beautiful texture on the finish." - Melissa Stackhouse, Winemaker
