Wine Review: At first I thought this wine was a little too restrained, but this terrific ruby red blend from down under comes alive down the homestretch. This wine initially starts out with a very attractive boysenberry and black currant like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, silky, and smooth for a Barossa based wine. The flavor profile is a tasty fruit forward light blackberry. There are notes of black currant mixed in as well. The finish is where this wine transcends to the next level. It is absolutely tremendous. It is quite dry and it just explodes in you mouth with lingering raspberry flavors that come from nowhere. It finally closes out with some drifting tannins. I could probably polish off a bottle of this wine by myself. Sharing will be difficult. Pair this gem with a juicy ribeye and enjoy. Ken
Winemaker Notes: "Brilliant crimson colour, very bright, almost glowing and pales a little at the rim; pure, fragrant aroma at times floral and violets come to mind but also showing warm climate richness and ripeness; the palate is much more delicate than that of shiraz and builds gradually in the mouth and finishes with satisfying, delicious fruit and fine tannins."
