Wine Review: If you are a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc fan and want to try something new, you might want to give this Gewurtz a try. This straw yellow colored wine opens with a light gingerbread like bouquet with a hint of lychee. On the palate, this wine is lively and crisp with lime flavors with notes of green apple. The finish is semi dry and very refreshing. This Gewurz would pair nicely with grilled swordfish with lemon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ventana models its Gewurztraminer in the off-dry Alsatian Style. With flavor characteristics of litchis, orange blossoms, cinnamon and nutmeg spice, it exudes a lively bouquet. The wine is medium bodied with a lingering crisp spice finish. The off-dry style matches beautifully with food. Try Gewurztraminer with mild creamy cheeses, spicy Asian cuisine, pork dishes and poultry, especially turkey.
