Wine Review: This winery has really impressed me over the last month and my tasting panel agreed as this wine scored a 91.8 and finished in 5th place in our blind tasting of high end Cabs. This winery sources grapes for this wine from the famous Stagecoach vineyard. This dark ruby colored wine opens with an attractive plum like bouquet with hints of violet and wintergreen. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is well balanced, silky smooth, lush, and elegant. The flavor profile is fruit forward with delicious black cherry flavors and a touch of spice. The finish is dry and well managed tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel felt Aussie Shiraz fans would love this impressive wine and they would pair it with duck. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The legendary Stagecoach Vineyard rises to an elevation of 1700 feet above the eastern portion of Napa Valley’s Oakville district. Cabernet Sauvignon grown on this site is prized for it’s intensity & complexity of flavor. Deep, saturated purple color is the introduction to this intense young wine. Black and red fruits, dark chocolate and baking spice with a dusting of fine tannins in a richly textured package suggest a good decade (or more) of cellaring, if one can resist the temptation to break out a bottle tonight.
