Wine Review: This dark ruby wine opens with a light raspberry bouquet surrounded scents of smoky oak and leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, smooth, and shows a nice balance between its acidity and fruit. This wine displays juicy cherry flavors with notes of integrated oak on the back palate. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This Grand Cru is drinking quite nicely right now. It is more acidic than the Morgon’s so I would pair it with red sauce based meals like veal parmigianna. Enjoy – Ken.
Winemaker Notes: An elegant expression of Moulin-à-Vent, with elegant aromas of rose, peony and subtle minerals which carry onto the palate. In the mouth, the wine is generous and tender, with sweet, ripe, lasting tannins on the finish. The wine approaches maturity in most vintages in ten to fifteen years.
