Wine Review: This non vintage Champagne from Piper Heidsieck seems to be very popular every year. We found it to be one of the leaders of the pack as well. It finished in 4th place in our recent blind Champagne and sparkling wine tasting. This light yellow color wine opens with an attractive citrus like bouquet with hint of nuts. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, with nicely integrated acidity, and displays very tasty citrus flavors with slight hints of butter. The finish is dry and subtle. The panel would pair this Champagne with broiled scallops or fettuccini alfredo. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The first impressions are of bright fresh mornings. It is reminiscent of spring blossom such as hawthorn. They lead into more fruity notes such as summer apple and pear, then citrus, with hints of warm toastiness. Lively and fresh. Citrus notes take on a certain maturity. The finish resonates with classic champagne toast and citrus notes first encountered in the aroma.
