Wine Review: Laker Cake is a fun project made by Pure Love Wines. I had a chance to try a few of their new creations and the "Primitivo" was the one that I fancied and found the most intriguing. This dark ruby wine opens with a light raspberry like bouquet with a hint of bananas. Yes, bananas. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, smooth, nicely balanced, with juicy light raspberry like flavors with a touch of Boston Crème pie on the back palate. The finish is dry and lingers nicely for a little while. Have fun with this wine, I did. Cheers, Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine is opaque and purple-colored with a nose of jammy black cherry and blackberry fruit, truffles, tar, and spice. Warm and rich in the mouth; the ripe fruit is well supported by the depth of the structure.
