Wine Review: This wine is a terrific follow up to the 2005 vintage of this wine that won our Italian tasting last year. This year vintage is very dark purple in color. It opens with blackberry like bouquet with a slight whiff of balsamic. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, extremely well balanced, with a silky and smooth mouthfeel. This flavor packed wine shows off concentrated and lush blackberry flavors with hints of blueberry and spice. The finish is dry, gentle, and nicely extended. This very flavorful wine would be a terrific addition to many Italian meals. It was a perfect compliment to my veal marsala with butternut squash ravioli. Enjoy - Ken
