Wine Review: I recently tried bottle number 2,690 out of 11,333 bottles produced of this wine. It was pretty a terrific bottle. This almost black wine with a dark purple hue opens with a spicy boysenberry like bouquet. On the palate, this full throttle, full bodied wine is balanced, smooth, and loaded with extracted fruit flavors. Those flavors are principally spicy boysenberry flavors that explode in your mouth. There are also hints of pepper and anise. The finish is very dry and its tannins are quite prolonged. This wine could do very well on its own right now or decant it now and serve it with a rib eye. Since it settled nicely with some air, I expect that down the road after a few years in the cellar it will be a bit more elegant right out of the bottle. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: So intensely violet in colour it appears almost opaque in the glass. On the nose heady notes of blackcurrant and plum mix with mocha and just a hint of sweet spice. In the mouth rich chocolate and blueberry flavours kick off a very hedonistic flavour profile finishing with ample black cherry, leather and truffle. Voluptuous tannins combine effortlessly with a fresh acidity and abundant mineral notes leading to an elegant, layered finish.
