Wine Review: This very bright ruby red Pinot is the third Pinot from WWV that we have recommended this month. This wine opens with a spicy strawberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is smooth, balanced, and very easy to drink. It displays ripe strawberry flavors with a touch of spice. The finish is dry and slightly prolonged. This wine is not an overly complex but was perfect with my grilled strip steak. I even used it in my sautéed brown sauce with onion and mushrooms. If you are looking for an everyday food friendly Pinot, this would be a Very Good option to try. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Pinot Noir has sweet, delicate aromas of raspberry, licorice and violets, with a juicy entry and silky mouthfeel. The sweet and tart flavors of ripe, red cherry and cranberry are accented by hints of vanilla, earth and spice. Lingering notes of cinnamon and clove spice round out the finish. 2006 was a warm year and experience in the cellar created a wine with flavors in balance with acids and alcohol. Drink now-2012.
