Wine Review: Finding Very Good mid range Zinfandel can sometimes be difficult. But this years Rancho Zabaco fills that need nicely. This very dark purple wine opens with a very fruit forward and inviting dark berry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is round, balanced, and loaded with spicy blackberry flavors. The finish is dry and slightly prolonged. This wine would pair nicely with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 vintage of Sonoma Heritage Vines delivers an elegant, yet dynamic, Zinfandel expressing both vigor and passion. This wine is surprisingly approachable, sharing aromas and flavors of ripe blueberry, black cherry and spice – classic characteristics of Sonoma County Zinfandel. Oak aging adds a suggestion of toasted coconut and vanilla and enhances the soft mouth-feel. The lingering finish maintains the aforementioned elegance.
