Wine Review: You really can’t beat an easy drinking Pinot Noir on a hot summer night. This bright ruby wine fit that need. This wine opens with a very very attractive light spicy raspberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry and vanilla. On the palate, this wine is light to medium bodied, silky smooth, nicely balanced with slightly spicy raspberry like flavors. The finish is dry and subtle. This wine is very food friendly and would pair nicely with salmon and pork tenderloin. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant wine that truly expresses the terroir of the red, volcanic earth where it was grown. Aromas of sweet wild rose, red and black fruits, clove and earth are complemented by flavors of black cherry, cassis, cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon. A medium-full bodied wine with a voluptuous mid-palate and big round tannins in balance with the crisp acidity. The spicy cinnamon and black pepper finish lingers into the next sip. Appealing now but will further reward those who cellar this wine. Peak drinkability is between 2008-2012.
