Wine Review: This wine has been very popular with my tasting group for some time. This wine is always very appealing. This year this very very dark purple wine opens with a spicy blackberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is smooth, very concentrated, and flavorful. The flavor profile is dusty blackberry flavors with some dark chocolate notes as well. The finish is quite dry and shows lingering tannins that stick with you for quite some time. Decant this young wine and pair it with pork tenderloin in a sage enhanced brown sauce. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This traditional Rhone blend is 33% Syrah, 37% Mourvedre, 21% Grenache and 9% Counnoise. On the nose, smokey black fruit and spice, vanilla crème brulee. On the palate, rich black fruit spice and anise finishing long into sexy vanilla oak. Picture a night with Bridget Bardot wrapped in velvet.
