Wine Review: In most cases, blending different kinds of grapes leads to interesting and Very Good wines. That is the case with this offering from Cadaretta. This pale yellow blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon opens with a very pleasant tropical fruit like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is rather suave, very well balanced, and has nicely integrated acidity. Its flavor profile is granny smith apple with hints of pear and lime. The finish is dry, refreshing, and lingers slightly. This wine would go perfectly with bacon wrapped scallops and would liven up broiled scallops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The inaugural release of Cadaretta Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon (SBS) was raised in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, to preserve as much lush, fully-developed varietal fruit character as possible. This bright dry white combines beautiful aromas of pineapple, tropical and other exotic fruits with a hint of citrus. The wine is clean and crisp on the palette, with a full-bodied, creamy texture. The vibrant pineapple, pear and lime flavors linger in a crisp finish. Serve this crisp, refreshing white wine chilled with oysters, a fresh seafood platter, tempura prawns, sushi, or calamari and crudités served with lemon herb aioli.
