Wine Review: Talk about a great first impression! This is the first time we have covered the Carlisle wines. This Syrah spoke volumes and we can’t wait to try the Zins. This very dark purple wine opens with a pleasant mild blueberry like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is balanced, dry, and intense with rich dusty blackberry flavors. The finish is quite dry and the tannins linger for quite some time. This very tasty wine would perfectly complement a filet mignon. This wine was quite a crowd pleaser in a mini tasting that I conducted. If you find it, you will be rewarded as well. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dark ruby-garnet. Gorgeous aromas of blackberry, crème de cassis, and spring flowers meet the nose. On the palate, flavors of blackberry and herbs. Full-bodied but with refreshing tannins on the finish. While enjoyable now, additional complexity should develop with bottle age. Drink 2009-2016.
