Wine Review: I had the opportunity to meet John Duval while trying his current releases. John tries to make his Barossa wines in an elegant style. He meets that goal with this years "Entity." This very purple wine opens with a rich blueberry like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth as silk, well balanced, and loaded with delicious blackberry and blueberry flavors. The finish is dry and lingers with tingly soft tannins that go on for a good length of time. This wine is food friendly now and would pair nicely with a NY strip steak. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2006 vintage of Entity is an intricately structured wine comprised of rich and vibrant Shiraz fruit. A true reflection of Barossa’s soil and climate, Entity displays youthful blackberry, blueberry and savory French oak aromas. Entity’s palate is rich and generous, with concentrated dark fruit and fine, ripe tannins. The finish is elegant and carries through with excellent fruit intensity. Enjoy the 2006 vintage now or cellar it for 10 years to garner additional complexity.
