Wine Review: Have you ever had a Trocken (Dry) Spätlese? Me neither, but low and behold, this wine is Very Good. This golden yellow colored wine opens with a pineapple and peach like bouquet. On the palate, this light to medium bodied wine is clean, nicely balanced, and displays pleasant citrus and pear like flavors with notes of minerality and honey. The finish is dry and quite refreshing. This wine is very food friendly and would pair very nicely with grilled lemon chicken. This was our favorite “Dry” Riesling from a like mini tasting of “Dry’s” that we received. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: A nose full of dried fruit, ranging from strawberry-banana to cantaloupe in this beauty from the famous Piesporter Goldtröpfchen vineyard site. The wine is a touch softer in acidity than its sister from the Trittenheimer Apotheke vineyard and well-rounded with flavors of citrus and ripe melon.
