Wine Review: In a blind tasting this wine could fool you into thinking it might be a Shiraz. This very dark purple wine opens with a wonderfully aromatic blackberry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is round, juicy, nicely balanced, with very intensely flavored blackberry like flavors with cherry notes as well. The finish is dry, has soft tannins and lingers nicely. This wine would benefit from 6 months to a year more in the bottle to maximize its potential. Right now, this wine would pair nicely with barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: We chose to make a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon rather than blend in other varietals so that we could create a real terroir wine with pure varietal flavor. As a result, the Director's Cut Cabernet delivers enticing aromas of cola, cherry, and eucalyptus before revealing dark, rich berries, cassis and clack cherries, which is typical of fruit grown in the illustrious Alexander Valley.
