Wine Review: Goldeneye’s second label Migration flew into 6th place in our recent blind review of Pinot Noirs. This bright red wine opens with very inviting cherry vanilla like bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine is smooth, nicely balanced, and displays sweet cherry like flavors with strawberry and pepper notes. The finish is quite dry, shows a little acidity and warmth. It lingers nicely. The panel felt this wine would pair nicely with venison or beef stroganoff. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is textured with an integrated oak component and features a dense palate. There is a hint of pennyroyal mint (native to our area) in both the nose and mouth. The aroma is full of red fruit–strawberry, raspberry, and Bing cherry–complemented by a floral note and a touch of oak. In the mouth, sweet spices abound–cinnamon, in particular–along with dense plum and notes of cola and vanilla, all followed by an edge of earthiness, mushrooms, and forest floor in the finish.
