Wine Review: Standing Stone is one of the best Chardonnay producers in the Finger Lakes and this 2006 option is a good example of why I make that claim. This rich golden yellow wine opens with an apricot and lemon like bouquet with notes of vanilla and custard. On the palate, this medium to full bodied wine is creamy, well balanced, and boast tasty pineapple and pear like flavors. The finish is dry, but fades away quickly. This wine would pair perfectly with a seafood alfredo with shrimp and scallops. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Ripe banana, melon and coconut notes on the nose, continuing through the mouth. Complemented by clean pear flavors and a spicy vanilla finish.
